Overview of the shafts of the Velenje Coal Mine.

The mine shaft complex, which houses the Slovenian Coal Mining Museum, is protected in accordance with the Cultural Heritage Protection Act and is entered in the Register of Cultural Heritage. In collaboration with the Velenje Museum, we present an important cultural and tourist offering for Velenje and the surrounding area. In 2007, on the recommendation of the Celje Institute for Cultural Heritage, the Municipal Council of Velenje adopted a resolution to designate the Mining Museum as a cultural monument of local importance. Pursuant to this Act, the lift shaft together with the building, the machine room for the lift, and the ground floor of the commercial building, which houses the White and Black Cloakroom, are protected.
